The situation on site

Joined immediately after piling was complete — as sole site engineer alongside the project manager. The project combined a hybrid RC and structural steel structure with complex aluminium and glass façades, multiple skylight systems, steel canopies, full MEP fit-out and high-end interior finishing across a large commercial footprint. All trades were running simultaneously: at peak, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, gypsum board, aluminium, interlock, painting, snagging and consultant handover inspections were all active at once, with 80–150 workers on site daily. Delivering a clean, inspection-ready handover — with zero open NCRs — required strict sequencing, documentation discipline and constant multi-trade coordination.

What I specifically did

01 Daily supervision of structural, architectural and MEP works — ensuring all activities followed approved drawings, method statements and specifications from piling completion to final handover.
02 Managed RFIs, WIRs and MIRs with the consultant — ensuring every inspection was carried out and approved before subsequent activities proceeded. Closed 32 NCRs at handover with zero remaining open.
03 Coordinated RC and structural steel interfaces, aluminium & glass façades, skylights and steel canopies — resolving clashes and raising RFIs for missing or unclear details before they hit the site.
04 Supervised installation of 1,092 solar panels across the shading system — generating approximately 52% of the facility's total energy needs. Coordinated structural supports, electrical connections and approvals.
05 Coordinated external works including sanitary drainage networks, inspection chambers, manholes and stormwater drainage systems across large external yards and parking areas.
06 Prepared weekly look-ahead plans with the project team — keeping critical activities, material deliveries and handover milestones tracked and visible across all active trades simultaneously.
07 Reviewed shop drawings and coordinated MEP, façade and structural interfaces — managing technical submissions and consultant approvals for all major systems throughout the project.
08 Enabled a partial early handover to the owner while remaining works continued in parallel on other parts of the site — demonstrating controlled sequencing and zone management under live conditions.

What was delivered

🏗️
Full project delivery — piling to handover
Sole site engineer on an AED 50M commercial flagship, managing 80–150 workers daily across 10+ simultaneous trades from structural start through to final handover.
32 NCRs closed — zero open at handover
Full QA/QC compliance maintained across the project. All non-conformance reports tracked, actioned and closed before handover — nothing left outstanding.
☀️
1,092 solar panels coordinated & installed
Coordinated the full solar shading system — 1,092 panels generating approximately 52% of the facility's energy needs — including structural supports, cabling and authority approvals.
🔑
Partial early handover delivered
Planned and executed zone sequencing to allow partial early handover to the owner while remaining works continued in parallel — protecting the client's operations without compromising quality.
